Don Smith who found a giant puffball in Ontario asks granddaughter Kaylie Ngo to post photo online
An Ontario woman helped her grandfather spread the word on social media after he found an extraordinarily large mushroom in the woods. Don Smith, 84, found the 15.4-pound puffball while walking his daughter's dog last week near Woodstock. Eager to

The older I get, the more I dislike the fact that the fashion and beauty industries use 15 year olds to sell things to me. I understand if a beauty product or fashion line is specifically geared towards a teenage demographic and they use teenage... But when a major beauty line uses a 15-year-old to move products that are targeted to women in their 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s. Nope. I don’t even care if that 15-year-old is the daughter of one of the most famous models in the world. That’s right: Cindy Crawford’s 15-year-old daughter Kaia Gerber has picked up her first beauty contract. She’s the new face of Marc Jacobs Beauty. It was just a handful of months ago when Kaia and Cindy graced their first Vogue cover together (Vogue Paris), and Kaia was just 14. It seemed like Cindy was gently trying to introduce her daughter to that world, and I had high hopes that Cindy... Kaia signed to IMG a few months ago, and she’s already being called the Breakthrough Model of the Year (AT 15. ). And this Marc Jacobs contract is her first big endorsement. Granted, the photos are lovely, and it’s not like I was personally going to buy anything from Marc Jacobs beauty line anyway. This seems… inappropriate. Kaia told Allure:. At 15, she’s already obsessed with Marc Jacobs’ beauty products. Oh, and did you know that Kaia was also part of Alexander Wang’s #WangSquad. It’s true – she modeled for Wang or she was some sort of brand ambassador. (Incidentally, I think #WangSquad should be Marvel’s new hashtag, either that or #SausageParty. And here’s another layer: Kaia won’t get even half of the sh-t that Jaden and Willow Smith got for their teenage modeling contracts. Well at least in this case her mother was a model and seems to have survived it with style and grace so I can see how she can guide her daughter though the pitfalls so I have high hopes Kaia won’t be yet another tragic story a few years down the... On the other hand anyone who looks that good, and is that young, really can’t tell me much about making my wizened old face more beautiful. Willow and Jaden are more interesting than Kaia and I will take them all day over this admittedly pretty celebrity nothing. I don’t want to buy anything sold by a teenager. I dislike the fact that underdeveloped (teenage) bodies are shown as the pinnacle of desirability. A whole set of celebrities have shown their female spawn their best, and maybe only, value is looking hot in fancy clothing. Almost like we live Ina culture that values hotness in women over anything else’s day their parents reinforced it. Can we get articles on the celebspawn than go to school and life guard or teach camp kids, or even work in grocery store. you have no idea how very well spoken people from the industry are. I was “discovered” when I was 12 and my mom was like HELL NO. But then, at 13 she got millions of calls and of course I was on board and at 14 I already did all 4 major FWs. Then my friend, now a famous furniture designer, was raped in Japan by guests of a client… At 16 I got back to my education and never looked back. Mom was always there for me, she was supportive and payed from her own money just to be near me. It was cool for me since I was a kid, but now, looking back, I can only think of one thing: If I have a daughter there is no way I will allow her to... No one will be able to convince me it is a good idea. There are jealous comments but of course this is a good idea. It’s not like modeling can take you through to retirement age. You have to make money when it’s the right time and the window of opportunity has now opened. This is their world and how they make a living. Her mother will be there and knows what the risks are. I don’t know about everyone else, but I feel positively androgynous and solemn at the mention of Marc Jacobs. She’s a pretty young girl (emphasis on the ‘girl’) but just because some of these kids have model pedigrees in their families doesn’t mean they should automatically get first dibs on all these contracts left, right and centre without proving their... There’s a great article that ran in Vanity Fair in the last week or so where a fashion insider was blasting the insta-generation of models, I’ll see if I can find a link to it. EDIT: said insider is Robert Verdi and the link is below ~. http://www. com/style/2016/09/kendall-jenner-gigi-hadid-supermodel-magic-robert-verdi. This is the second post today about ‘legacies’ working in fashion at young and very young ages. Is there any point for models that don’t have.
