Includes liner notes by Ira Gitler. Atlantic Jazz: Best of the '60s, Vol. 1 features some of the finest performances from the label's roster of jazz greats, including John Coltrane's Equinox, Charles Mingus' Ecclusiastics, and Ornette Coleman's Una Muy Bonita. Roland Kirk's Volunteered Slavery, the Modern Jazz Quartet's Summertime, and Herbie Mann's Comin' Home, Baby are among the collection's other highlights, along with tracks by Mose Allison, Hank Crawford, Les McCann, and Eddie Harris. Though the album isn't really a good introduction to any of its individual artists, Atlantic Jazz: Best of the '60s, Vol. 1 does offer a notable look at the mix of hard bop, free jazz, and avant-garde jazz that defined the label in the '60s. ~ Heather Phares

EVERYBODY KNOWS was nominated for a 1997 Grammy Award for Best Country Album. Believe Me Baby (I Lied) was nominated for 1997 Grammys for Best Female Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Song. Trisha Yearwood makes perfect country-rock radio singles, with stinging electric-guitar riffs, sighing pedal-steel leads, lilting dashes of rock piano and organ, and choruses a young Linda Ronstadt would have paid the Devil handsomely for. All of which would be as meaningless as any other cowgirl's latest studio project if not for Yearwood's steadfast refusal to be a cowgirl at all. EVERYBODY KNOWS, her sixth album, is filled with songs about nice young boys who grew up to be corporate tyrants (Little Hercules) or couch potatoes (I Need You), and nice young girls who have finally figured out how to move on (I Want To Live Again, Hello, I'm Gone). This is anything but stand-by-your-man country, and it ends with a stunning, piercing folk-rock song, A Lover Is Forever (written by Steve Goodman and Fred Knobloch, and previously recorded by Rosanne Cash), in which the other woman in a man's life excoriates
“We’re the first industrial drone company in Jamaica and the Caribbean and we primarily provide agricultural services. We do spraying of crops for fungicides and any disease that they may have and we also use what we call agricultural intelligence to gather images of the crops and determine the crops’ health through various algorithms and so forth,” Agrocaelum... Harris explained that his firm was born out of a conversation, in June 2015, with the president of an agricultural company in Jamaica, who had asked if there was anything that could help with crop dusting – spraying crops with crop-protection... I’m also an aviation consultant, so we looked into drones, and realised it was quite viable and decided to come up with the idea for it, and they were very receptive and here we are today,” Harris explained. He said that Agrocaelum, which was officially opened in October 2015, sourced drones from overseas, which Harris admitted was a very challenging process due to Customs duties. “But they’re here now, and farmers are very excited and we’re looking forward to providing the service,” he said. “We’re targeting both large companies and small farmers, and Worthy Park Estate is a client, for example, and there are some other folks that we are targeting. Agrocaelum, which was one of the exhibitors at the Denbigh Agricultural, Industrial and Food Show a few weeks ago, also plans to launch a small farms programme, which applies to farms anywhere between an acre and 20 acres in size. “We will come and talk with them or they can call us and we’ll give them a fixed price to come and spray their crops. It’s much more efficient than an aeroplane and also safer than spraying using a back-pack because you are exposing humans to fewer chemicals,” Harris said. Harris also said that this method is more environmentally friendly. Harris said that feedback from clients so far has been good, as the operators of Worthy Park have told the drone company that their sugar cane is now healthier, having been previously struggling with rust disease. “Our aircraft has sensors on it and it gathers high resolution images of the crops and we run those images through a computer algorithm that can tell us the chlorophyll levels. It can tell us if the crop is stressed, for example, we can also identify infestation of different diseases that cause discolouration in the leaves,” Harris stated. “So we can give a report to the farmers saying this is the level of health of your field, you should look at it or you should consider spraying fungicides or herbicides or fertiliser and we’ll provide that spraying service for you,” he added. Asked about the price for the service, Harris said he and his team engage in a consultation with each client to determine their need by looking at the size and type of crops and the problems the farm faces. “The prognosis for us, I think the sky is the limit and everyone is very excited about it and as long as we provide exemplary service and stable growth, I think we can really help to increase the agriculture yields in Jamaica,” Harris stated.
