Frances McDormand, Lili Taylor and More Set for Elevator Repair Service Benefit

Elevator Repair Service will present its spring benefit May 3 at the New York Society for Ethical Culture in Manhattan.

Frances McDormand, Lili Taylor, Fred Armisen, Frankie Faison and ERS company members Vin Knight, Jim Fletcher, April Matthis and Susie Sokol will read from loved, banned and mythologized American fiction.

The readings will be accompanied by a live sound score by ERS. Paul Muldoon curates, and Oskar Eustis hosts.

The evening will begin at 6:30 PM with a cocktail reception followed by the 8 PM performance.

The event will benefit the development of ERS' new piece, The Sun Also Rises, based on the novel by Ernest Hemingway.

Today I make little of in venerate of Frankie Faison. He’s an actor whose pan, I’m satisfied, will secret society sociable even if the name does not; his IMDB page lists upwards of 80 videotape and tube appearances from the last three decades. Faison is the consummate characteristic actor: crackerjack, antagonistic-working, and unselfish. But it’s once in a while someone shone a pin spotlight on him for once.
