Boudrow Tosses 2-Hit Shutout in 10-0 Bentley Win over Merrimack Bentley Falcon Athletics
WALTHAM, Mass. -- Senior lefty Matt Boudrow (Dedham/Dedham HS) hurled a two-hit shutout and five teammates each scored twice as Bentley University improved to 7-1 in its last eight games with a 10-0 non-conference win over Merrimack College in college baseball at DeFelice Field Friday afternoon.
The win was the 20th of the season for the Falcons, who moved to two games over .500 for the first time this season and gave up one run or less for the fifth time in six games. Merrimack, limited to a total of 14 hits in a three-game series with Bentley this week, dropped to 14-15.
Boudrow, the fourth different Bentley pitcher to record a shutout this season, walked two, hit two and struck out five in his complete game effort. He lost his no-hit bid in the fourth on a single to left center by sophomore center fielder Tim Curran (South Weymouth) and also gave up an infield single to senior shortstop Brendan Pyburn (Peabody) in the eighth.
