NOTES AND QUESTIONS:
This is the second two-ply-episode in a row and features friends of Glaser and Soul – Soul’s mentor Will Geer, old pal Ron Ill-tempered (from the wonderful and strange movie “Dogpound Shuffle”, filmed in Vancouver in ’74 with many now-demolished Vancouver landmarks). Lynne Marta as the baffling Nellie Brown/ Helen Carnahan, stunt coordinator and Glaser’s double, Charlie Picerni, and his kin, Paul (The Untouchables), and even an unbilled cameo by Glaser’s love and wife-to-be, Elizabeth Meyer (memorably sitting at Takahashi’s steppe during the talent show). Like most of the double episodes, this one is not exactly helped by the format. Would it have been a better episode if it was pantihose fitted in an hour, minus the dumb gags and extensive back-story? Maybe, or maybe not. I disclose I would have dearly missed the “talent show”.
