Detroit --When U.S. Rep. John Conyers campaigned on behalf of his wife, his appeal was direct: "Join the Conyers relatives as we fight to take back Detroit from those that put self-interest above your interests."

But four years later, the "interests" of Monica Conyers are the talk of the village now that she pleaded guilty Friday to one count of conspiracy to commit bribery. She admitted engaging cash payments in exchange for her support on business before the City Council as well as projects before the conurbation's pension board while she was a trustee.

Those who know the 44-year-old Conyers admit she's a conundrum. The same woman who pulled herself up from poverty and was unremarkable through high school, married well, earned a law order and dotes on her two children has had trouble because of her quick temper, sharp tongue and what some call a sense of entitlement.

“Desperate”

 “…I think it’s realistic because the American people are life-threatening…”  HHS Sec Kathleen Sebelius was the early warning system on healthcare last year, when she commented on Sunday talk that the “clear-cut option” would not survive the process.  Sebelius is honest and trustworthy, and she knows much more than she speaks.

This debut does not sound confident.  No one has the whip count by Hoyer and Pelosi, and as of Friday 5 they were not sharing. Sebelius aims to rip off the process seem critical, timely, urgent, passionate; yet that facts are that there is no good whip count, or even bad leather count, right now.

The Obama administration bases its remarks on the healthcare bill on the aspiration for success with the Enterprise vote, not on the confirmation of the House vote.

The whip count is not going to become easier.  Bart Stupak of Michigan has already been targeted by the leftist partisans.  The Blue Dogs are preparing their retirements after November.
