Glen David Andrews is a roll play. If that wasn't simple from his merry-spirit, transude-flinging tier company, he has a guy to forecast you that.
Toward the end of his Congo Na set, Andrews directed his gather - anchored by former Slovenly Dozen sousaphonist Julius McKee - into a cheeky, psychedelic take on "Voodoo Laddie." In the halfway point of it, he was joined onstage by a nature of mix slap rhymester and hype man, who rhymed a prolonged paean to Andrews' place capability. "He's the 6 Section Prince! The Duke of St. Philip Thoroughfare! He blows nerve and really appears!"
As the rhyme went on, Andrews seemed perverted on proving the accolades accurately. He hyped the cram up with a "Who Dat" detailing, toss-tossed his wireless mic and caught it in one on hand, swung out a syncopated rendition of "Distress Agitate And Money," and scatted, Satchmo-make, through a supercharged "Righteous A Closer Stride With Thee." All the while, the elegist sung his praises.
As the "Trembling Jolt & Reel" crescendoed, Andrews leapt from the status and ran through the horde, climbing up on the barricades. When he leapt off into the racetrack grunge at the side of the Broadway to roar on his back in a funk excitement, the hype man for good gave up on dispiriting to put the wildness into words.
